We caught a mid-day TGV/Lyria train from the Gare de Lyon to Dijon, about a 1 1/2 hour trip. The Gare de Lyon is a very imposing building, and quite busy.
The train ride was smooth and comfortable, and the Dijon station a short taxi ride from the Mercure hotel where we spend the next 2 nights.
We took a short walk to the old town , then back to the hotel for a little rest. Everyone tonight is doing their own thing, trying out various restaurants. 7 of us went to Le P'tit Bouchon, a Dijionaise style restaurant. It turned out to be exceptional, local home style cooking, and a very entertaining Chef/Owner Christo. I would highly recommend!! Some of the dishes we ordered; Duck confit, lamb chops, pig's feet cassoulet. To drink, kir, red burgundy. and a rose to finish.
