After another lovely breakfast (but still having trouble figuring out the coffee machine!) At the Mercure, we checked out, stored our luggage and headed into town. Unfortunately tickets for accessing the Tower of Philip le Bon were not available, but we did another tour of the town of Dijon, went to the market for a fantastic cheese tasting, and went to the Beaus Arts museum.
It really is a lovely town, and easy to walk around. Most buildings in the old town are from the 14th century or later. They will be turning the center into a pedestrian only area.
The day started quite cool, but warmed up as the day progressed. As it was Saturday, the town was considerably busier today. After a while Ian and I picked up a slice of Pate en croute, went to a cafe for a beer and started walking back to the hotel. By then it was getting quite warm so we sat out by the pool, read and had our pate. Nice to relax and chill for a bit.
We will be leaving here at 4pm to head to the Daniele.
